# Angelcam

> Angelcam is a cloud video platform with two faces: (1) a developer-first VSaaS backbone — REST API, OEM hardware (AngelBox, AngelCamera), and customizable firmware — that builders, OEMs, alarm integrators, and SaaS companies use to ship branded cloud video products at scale; and (2) a self-serve cloud VMS (Video Management System) where any end customer can connect an existing IP camera in minutes and progressively upgrade it with cloud recording, live broadcasting, timelapse, AI analytics, and (soon) defect detection. The same backbone runs both — partners and end users share one API, one device fleet, and one feature roadmap.

Angelcam operates one of the most complete public camera APIs available today. The API exposes the full surveillance stack as endpoints: connect any IP camera regardless of brand (Axis, Dahua, Hikvision, Lorex, Uniview, Vivotek, ONVIF, plus generic RTSP), control cloud recording (start, stop, retrieve clips), manipulate live streams, consume AI-generated events (false alarm filtering, incident description, live action on incidents), and manage users, plans, and billing. Additional AI capabilities — object detection, license plate recognition, facial recognition, and defect detection — are in active development and targeted for release in 2027. OEM hardware ships pre-flashed with Angelcam firmware so partners can launch a white-label cloud video product in weeks, not years. Reference deployments include alarm-monitoring partner Jablotron, public utilities (GRDA), municipal and government installations, regulated industries (cannabis, healthcare), and remote sites connected over Starlink.

For end customers, Angelcam is a true VSaaS / cloud VMS: sign up, connect any existing IP camera through AngelBox or directly via supported brand integrations, and immediately get a unified web and mobile dashboard across all locations. From there, customers progressively "smart-upgrade" their existing cameras with add-ons — cloud recording (continuous or event-based), public live broadcasting, timelapse, two-way audio retrofits, and AI features. The currently available AI catalog covers false alarm filtration, AI-generated incident descriptions, and AI-driven live action on incidents; object detection, license plate recognition, facial recognition, and defect detection are in active development and targeted for release in 2027. The model turns commodity IP cameras into a modular, app-store-style smart-camera platform without forklift hardware replacement. Subscription plans range from individual home cameras through professional and business multi-location deployments to fully custom enterprise contracts.
